Chicamacomico Banks Fire Department, located on Hatteras Island, serves the villages of Rodanthe and Waves. Volunteer firefighters respond to fires; automobile accidents; water rescue; and supports Dare County EMS Station 6. The Department responds to an average of 130 calls a year. Many of the calls are beach related emergencies. The water rescue team responds to a number of calls during the tourist season. |
